African Eclipse 2001!
When most people are taking closeups of the sun and its wonderful prominences, it is sometimes nice just to soak up the atmosphere. In the image above Greg has tried to show in a quick not-too-steady (hand-held) photograph the sheer intensity of everyone's interest in this first eclipse of the new millennium. Incidentally, this is the only picture Greg took during the eclipse.
"The eclipse was one of the most spectacular astronomical events I have ever witnessed and what a wonderful country Zimbabwe is in which to have seen it!"
