Messier M101 Pinwheel Galaxy A beautiful face on spiral galaxy located at a distance of about 27 million light years in the constellation of Ursa Major. At about 175,000 light years across it is nearly double the size of our own Milky Way. A total of 17 exposures of 5 minutes (badly guided) were used for this image. There is a bad dust bunny in the lower right middle which I'll get to grips with some day ! Link-words: Messier Galaxy
