Long Pine Needles La Palma Hike
10 mile hike through the caldera de Taburiente La Palma, undertaken by tom, Michael, Steve and Noel.
The canary Pine (Pinus Canariensis), has the longest pine needles of any pine, and Unique properties. They collect moisture on their needles from clouds which then drops to the soil around the tree. A large pine can collect 80 ltr of water a day.  They are said to provide 10% of La Palma’s drinking water. 
They can also withstand forest fires with lots of nodes for re-growth,
