Saturn I have taken a picture of Saturn on the 31st Dec 2001. This picture is noticably better than my previous efforts. I have collimated the optics on the scope as well as I can using a home made collimator made from a 35mm film caninster with a central eye hole in the lid. The seeing on the night of the 31st was particularly good, I could even see the cassini division at times which is difficult with my scope. There was a slightly darker band visible around Saturn which is just visible in the CCD image. The picture is around 30 frames from an AVI averaged in astrostack with a small amount of unsharp mask. The RGB channels were then individually tweaked. Link-words: Saturn
