Mike says "Here is a pic of Jupiter I took on the night of the 6th Feb at approx 2145.
"This is my first attempt after having the mirrors realuminised and the scope collimated.
"There is a definite increase in detail and colour over my previous attempts. Considering the scope is unguided it's not bad.
"I took an AVI of around 400 frames and picked out approx 80 that were good, then combined them in astrostack with some unsharp mask and deconvolve, then finally converted to CMYK in Photoshop and tweaked the 4 channels before recombining into RGB.
The darker patch at the bottom right is I think the transit shadow of Io - I could definately see the shadow visually through the eyepiece.
Greg Smye-Rumsby adds "Getting detail as fine as this with an undriven 4" newtonian telelscope demonstrates that Mike is indeed a fine and accomplished astrophotographer!"
