Wandsworth Common (site of Craig Telescope) MLAT2024
In 1852 the telescope stood on Wandsworth
Common in London. It was the brain child of
one man, the Reverend Mr. John Craig, and it
represented the biggest refracting telescope in
the World at that time.
Back in 2003 Greg had involved the Time Team, British heritage and a company that could do a geophysical survery ODAS, to do an Archeological dig to find the foundations of this telescope.
The photo of this dig can be found on this gallery (search for Dig).
